01. What inspired you to start 33 PEARLS ?
The 33 PEARLS journey stems from memories of my childhood, a time when I was battling with dry and uneven skin tone. Unfortunately, the only skin care product we had was thick, sticky, smelly Vaseline. And I had to use it every day, 7-days a week without fail; whether going to church, school, or even just staying at home. On the days we didn’t have Vaseline, I’d resort to using animal fat just to get that glowy shine on my face. As childhood faded and adulthood arrived, I decided to embark on a journey to create my own handcrafted skin care products to heal, restore, and nourish my perfectly melanated skin. How surprised I was to find all the ingredients I needed had been all around me the whole time, hidden in plain sight, right here in Uganda. It was quite a discovery!
